In 2019, my family and I spent five unforgettable days in Iceland. It was a whirlwind of activity—snowmobiling across icy landscapes, hiking on glaciers, exploring ice caves, and relaxing in authentic hot springs. Every moment felt like an adventure. Seeing stunning natural wonders like waterfalls, glaciers, and geysers up close was absolutely incredible. It’s hard to describe the sheer scale and beauty of everything we saw; Iceland’s landscapes are truly one of a kind.
We split our time between Airbnbs and being part of a guided group. Staying in Airbnbs gave us a cozy, local vibe, while the group tours added a fun sense of camaraderie. Traveling with others who were just as in awe of Iceland as we were made the experience even more special. We swapped stories, shared laughs, and bonded over the jaw-dropping sights we were lucky enough to explore together.
One thing I didn’t expect to love was being without Wi-Fi for the entire trip. At first, it felt weird, but it quickly became freeing. Without distractions, I could fully focus on spending time with my family and soaking in Iceland’s beauty. We had real conversations, laughed a lot, and made memories without the constant pull of screens.
Even though we were only there for a short time, Iceland left a big impression on me. It was a perfect mix of excitement, natural beauty, and quality time with my family. To this day, it’s one of my favorite trips, and I’d go back in a heartbeat.
